In April, Ace called me about photographing her daughters and mother-in-law for Mother's Day. She wanted a wonderful gift for her husband's mom to celebrate HER, a three generations family photo shoot. I was over-the-moon!!! These three generations photo shoots speak to every fiber of my purpose in business; creating a legacy.
Ace is a seamstress and entrepreneur. She owns "Sew-n-Sew" here in Asheville, and made several of the dresses that she and her mother-in-law wore for their photo shoot (see above).
I think one of the things that lights me up so much about family photo sessions, is that they will have these portraits for Lila and Nina, and their children. The girls will have tangible proof of the family that loved each of them so dearly, and portraits to look to when they talk about their parents that shows how much they are loved. It is everything.
Lila was the first through hair and makeup and, pretty awesome to photograph. She is at that perfect age where she still trusts enough to follow direction and has discovered enough of her independence to feel confident on her own.
Ace embodies everything about being a confident woman. She knows exactly who she is, she works to ensure her business is successful, and is a loving wife and mother (and daughter-in-law). I'm proud to have photographed her.
And Dad...he's usually the quietest of the bunch. One thing that I think is so often over-looked is that the father's love and tie to his family is stronger than just about anything and yet, is usually the softest in close quarters. He is not only a father but, a partner, and a son himself. Never, never, ever skip on the opportunity to be in front of the camera with your dad. Professional, amateur, or cell phone...it's too important.
Are you interested in a photo shoot with your family? I would love to photograph you. Let's create the heirlooms your kids will pass on to theirs and give them a visible reminder every single day that they are loved by you.
