In March I was lucky enough to photograph Bri in Los Angeles. Actually, I think we were technically in El Segundo at the time but...whatever. I'm a North Carolina girl. It's all California, right? (Please don't tell Californians I said that though ;-) ) I like to look at this shoot as making magic with Bri.
Bri is am INCREDIBLE stylist! She freelances and after working together on a few different clients, I finally had to ask her if I could photograph her. I mean, how could I NOT?! For serious.
I'd brought a red dress with me. She was initially hesitant until I showed her the dress and then it was game on. She essentially lives in the color black the way I do. It's everywhere. Dresses, pants, shoes, you name it so bringing the red with me struck a chord. And strike we did.
For the more imaginative pieces, I kept coming back to florals. She mentioned loving them and well, I love flowers and in California there were bougainvillea everywhere! However, it wasn't until I was on the streets in Munich and discovered a street fair with more bouquets than I'd ever seen at one time so...what did I do? I photographed them. Roses, peonies, lilacs, oh it was just beautiful. In fact, I imagine you'll see quite a lot of these florals in my upcoming fine art work too. Hahaha and then the second I landed back in the states, created this next image and I smile every time I see it. There's a darkness there that is comfortable, and there is a richness of beauty that only be showcased by Bri.
I loved creating with Bri. Thank you and I can't wait to work with you again soon.
